    MARIAN GROVE

    RATHFARNHAM, DUBLIN 14

    DESCRIPTION:

This Marian Grove Dublin renovation involved internal refurbishment of an existing semi-detached dwelling and extension to the rear and side. The existing dwelling was rearranged to accommodate larger living space, new kitchen with dining/living in the extension and converted former garage for study and Utility spaces. Upstairs a new bathroom and storage accommodation as part of reconfiguring the plan to suit the needs of the homeowners. The project incorporated external insulation to the fabric, underfloor heating with a gas boiler and heating controls, double glazed Rationel Aluclad windows. As the rear was predominantly east-facing, a corner window was designed at the rear extension to draw in south light. In additional a liner roof-light at the junction of the extension and existing dwelling brings light deep into the plan at the location of the dining and new kitchen spaces.

The Marian Grove project achieved a B3 Building Energy Rating.
